For what might be, and what we hope actually is, the last day of winter, we offer Slow Descent. Our first ever bottle conditioned Imperial Stout based heavily on what once was quite the courageous stout, if you will… (see the incoming comments where some beer nerd figures it out)
Featuring a grist of 100% UK Marris Otter, Brown, and Black malt in the exact proportions of that once storied stout, this beer was designed to showcase what the malt and roast character of Imperial Stouts from a bygone era might have been like.
Fermented with a dependable UK ale strain to a historically accurate, albeit dryer, level of sweetness than current stouts, and bottle conditioned at length for velvety, lush carbonation.
We taste notes of dark espresso bean, toasted walnut, vanilla cream, dark tobacco, and black cherry cocoa, with a lingering roast forward finish. Brewed to an intentional 8.5% ABV for drinkability, this beer is available to go in 500ml bottles and onsite pours.
